Episode 20 — Gaming + Therapy

Dr. Mick is a couples & family therapist and streamer, hosting [Game] Sessions with a Therapist nightly at 11:30 CST.

He joins me to discuss the intersection of mental health and gaming, and how he has created a community where he can share his expertise with others.

He has also created tools for other therapists to use to learn about video games, how they can be used in therapy, and how to help non-gaming family members empathize with their family members who use video games as a tool to cope with various mental health issues, as well as discussing the ways in which people are often misunderstood or mischaracterized based on how much time they dedicate to playing video games.
